The engine verdict
Release 0.2, September 29, 2026
The go or no-go decision on building our own engine, made from measurements on a throttled Mac before any game code existed.
Done when
Every benchmark scene runs in a release build and reports its numbers, and each one meets its budget or the work stops.
This was the go or no-go decision for building on our own engine. The budgets were set for a slower Mac than the one we develop on, and the results were written down before anything else was built. Choosing the engine’s stack covers what the gates found.
